WADEBRIDGE AND PADSTOW
The market town of Wadebridge is a haven for tourists and an excellent holiday destination. It provides all the usual shopping facilities, banks, a post office and tourist information office, as well as arts and crafts galleries and restaurants. There is an indoor leisure centre and swimming pool, a multi-screen cinema and the John Betjeman Centre, which is housed in the former railway station. Walkers and cyclists can gain access to the Camel Trail, which will take them to Padstow in one direction and to Bodmin and beyond in the other direction. Wadebridge is also part of the Saints Way, which is a sixteen mile cross country walk.
Only five miles from Hawksland Mill is the ancient fishing port of Padstow, which everyone loves to visit. Here you can see the fishing boats and the lobster hatchery, as well as taking a boat trip or the ferry across the River Camel to Rock.
There are numerous safe and sandy beaches within a few miles of Hawksland Mill, not forgetting glorious coastal walks.
Many visitors come to Cornwall for the magnificent gardens such as Trebah, Trelissick and the Lost Gardens of Heligan.
We also have a choice of stately homes to visit including Pencarrow House, Lanhydrock,Trerice, Prideaux Place and Cotehele.
